In medical practice, approximately every fourth to sixth patient suffers from some type of skin disease. Skin ailments can develop at any age depending on sex, geographical conditions, environmental conditions, lifestyle, and working conditions, as well as other factors. Skin diseases are very often predecessors, giving us a warning about some more serious ailment of other organs in the human body.
With tourism on the rise, in the past few years we have seen a rising occurrence of sexually transmitted diseases (STD), predominantly syphilis. Likewise, there has been an increase in blood vessel and tumour type ailments and skin ailments caused by allergy.
In the last few years we have achieved significant progress in our field, due to new diagnostic methods and modern treatment procedures. Dermatology and the treatment of venereal disease rightfully belongs to a field that is at the top of all medical fields in the world.
The good news is that nowadays the majority of skin and venereal diseases can be treated on an outpatient basis in professional and specialized dermatological and venereal disease centres and sanatoria.
